AI-Powered Research: Searching and Evaluating AI

AI research assistants can save you considerable time in your search for academic sources but require extra layers of evaluation. This hour-long workshop will introduce participants to two AI-powered research tools, Scite.ai and Scopus AI, and the benefits and drawbacks they can bring to your literature search. Through demonstrations and structured practice, you will

  • Compare results from AI research assistants to traditional library databases
  • Follow best practices when using AI assistants to locate academic sources
  • Evaluate the quality of AI-generated search results using AI and traditional library databases
