Enhancing the Student Learning Experience Through Open Education Resources

Presented in collaboration with CATLR—the Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning Through Research!

Open Education Resources (OERs) are materials that an author has explicitly granted permission for use by others. They are usually produced by educators, but also can be collaboratively created with students. OERs can benefit students by reducing the cost of education, developing their information literacy skills, and engaging them in authentic assignments. In this workshop, you will learn how to find and evaluate OERs and consider ways that OERs might be valuable to your students’ learning.

Recommended for: Northeastern faculty interested in engaging students in developing information literacy and other skills in ways that decrease the cost of education.
