Helping Students Narrate Their Learning

Face-to-face participation. The capacity to remember specifics, examine themes, and communicate meaning constitutes the difference between simply having an experience and experiential learning. This is particularly valuable at points of inflection, such as eliciting prior knowledge at the beginning of an experience, consolidating learning at the end, and connecting experiences beyond and within the classroom. In this session you will be introduced to models and processes for helping students become narrators of their learning, and will leave with concrete strategies to incorporate these models when educating students during seminal or pivotal moments in their college careers. Lunch will be provided.

Recommended for: Northeastern University educators interested in helping students make meaning from, integrate, and communicate their learning.

For Future Faculty Program participants, this session fulfills the “Assessment and Assignment" requirement.
