DH Open Office Hours - Digitizing Urban Atlases at the Map Center

Belle Lipton,  GIS Map Librarian at the Norman B. Leventhal Map & Education Center at the Boston Public Library will present on the center’s historic urban atlases, which date back to 1865.  Lipton will discuss efforts to digitize the atlases and create a portal to publicly display them.  Attendees will learn about the digital collections and digitization at the Map Center and DH resources available throughout Boston.

DH Open Office Hours are a great way for beginning and experienced researchers to share knowledge about how to use different tools, or to turn an idea into a solid project. We’ll also share current and completed projects, as well as our experiences with many different facets of the DH world. There will also be informal talk sessions with visiting digital scholars. This is a great opportunity to meet other students and faculty who are interested in DH and see what they’re up to. Feel free to bring your lunch!

DH Open Office Hours are held every Wednesday from 12:00 - 1:00 PM in the Digital Scholarship Commons Media Lounge, located on the second floor of Snell Library (take a right out of the stairwell, head through the glass double doors, and take an immediate left toward the orange couches).
