The Invisible Crisis is a film about women migrants fleeing violence and instability in their home countries, some who are victims of systemic human rights abuses in their countries of origin, come to the U.S. seeking to survive and to save the lives of their children. Yet upon arrival to the United States, women face being abused by a system that fails to recognize their plight and their humanity. 

Patricia Montes is the Executive Director of Centro Presente, an immigrant rights organization in Massachusetts as well as a recognized immigrant rights leader and a tireless advocate for just economic and social policies, including a just U.S. immigration policy. 

Established in 1981, Centro Presente is a member-driven, statewide Latin American immigrant organization dedicated to the self-determination and self-sufficiency of the Latin American immigrant community of Massachusetts.
