Web Intensive Series III: JavaScript

In this workshop, participants will learn several basic concepts in JavaScript, the programming language that is used to make HTML documents interactive and dynamic. While not going into significant depth, the session will provide a high-level overview of several fundamental concepts and practices, such as variables, methods, and data structures. By the end, participants will leave with a comfortable familiarity with interpreting, writing, and troubleshooting basic JavaScript code. When registering for this session, a basic understanding of HTML and CSS is assumed. To participate, attendees are asked to create a free account on JSFiddle (http://jsfiddle.net/) to follow along.

Interested in learning more about web development technologies? This workshop is the third part of the Web Intensive Series, a 4-part sequence of introductory tutorials that cover basic principles and concepts in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and D3.js. Content covered in this session builds upon content in other tutorials in the series; however, participants are not required to attend all sessions in sequence.
