Cultivating Self-Authorship with Your Learners
Research on self-authorship describes the ways in which we can become increasingly sophisticated over time in how we relate to: (1) knowledge itself, (2) our own identity, and (3) relationships with others. Specific kinds of learning experiences stimulate this development, and educators can facilitate these experiences through effective challenges and support. Upon completion of the workshop, participants will be able to explain the process and value of self-authorship to learners and implement practical methods for cultivating it in the learners with whom they work. Lunch will be provided.
