Inside the Archives: Artists’ Books in Special Collections
Join the F. W. Olin Library and Northeastern University Archives and Special Collections at Snell Library to learn more about and engage with artists’ books. This creative medium plays with, challenges, and interrogates the traditional structure and nature of the book as we understand it!
Archivist Rebecca Leung (Oakland) and art and design librarian Regina Pagani (Boston) will discuss what artists’ books are and describe the history, scope, and use of the artists’ books collections in Oakland and Boston. They will showcase a few examples from the collections to illustrate artists’ books’ breadth of creativity, themes, and forms. In-person attendees in both Boston and Oakland will have the opportunity for hands-on engagement with a selection of books.
This synchronous hybrid event is hosted by Northeastern Future Leaders (NUFL).
