DESCRIPTION:\n\nGIS Day 2025: Geo-Generalist Era: Where Spatial Meets 
 Everything\n\nToday’s geospatial thinkers are increasingly 
 geo-generalists—individuals who apply spatial thinking across many 
 disciplines. From public health to marketing\, from climate science to 
 logistics\, GIS is becoming a core competency for professionals in a wide 
 range of fields. This theme celebrates the expanding influence of GIS and 
 the professionals who bridge disciplines to solve complex\, real-world 
 challenges using spatial insight.\nWe welcome proposals from faculty\, 
 students\, researchers\, and professionals across universities who are 
 using GIS in their work. Presentations can showcase research\, teaching\, 
 or applied projects that demonstrate the versatility of spatial 
 thinking\n\nThe event will feature:\n\n\n	\n	Opening Session: Dean of the 
 Library\n	\n	\n	Talks by academia across the U.S. Northeastern University 
 Library\n	\n	\n	Workshops\n	\n	\n	StoryMaps competition (with Amazon gift 
 card prizes)\n	\n	\n	Networking\n	\n\n\nCapacity: 230 maximum in-person 
 attendees\, 200 on Zoom
