Back to School Archives Crawl: Education Activism in Northeastern's Special Collections

Back to School Archives Crawl: Education Activism in Northeastern's Special Collections

Join local repositories for exhibits & open house sessions highlighting a combined two centuries of materials related to the history of education in Boston and surrounding neighborhoods. We ask that community members without a Northeastern ID register through this calendar event a day in advance of the open house to gain entrance to the library

The Northeastern University Archives and Special Collections will be holding an open house to view, interact with, and learn more about the history of activism for educational equity in the city of Boston including the Freedom School Stay-Outs, Vernon Carter's 114-Day Vigil outside the Boston School Committee offices, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Freedom Rally, and more!

Once you visit the Northeastern University Archives and Special Collections, we encourage you to visit the Boston Public Library's open house at their Special Collections happening at the same time (2-4pm) and then joining the Massachusetts Historical Society for a similar event at 5pm.

And be sure to check out additional Crawl events and exhibits happening at Brookline Public Library, Burns Library at Boston College, and the State Library of Massachusetts!

Email mo.brown@northeastern.edu if you have any questions regarding the event.
