DSG and NULab Fall Scholarship Celebration

Join the Digital Scholarship Group (Northeastern University Library) and the NULab Center for Texts, Maps, and Networks (College of Social Sciences and Humanities) for our annual event. It will be in Room 90 in Snell Library on October 30th from 3 to 5 p.m.

The Scholarship Celebration will feature a keynote speech by Dr. Laura Nelson, assistant professor of sociology at Northeastern University. Dr. Nelson's talk, entitled Machine Learning is Feminist, will argue that "machine learning can not only be used in feminist ways, it is, down to its most basic assumptions, a feminist framework."

The keynote will be preceded by a series of lightning talks presenting research from the Northeastern community doing digital projects in English, history, computer science, network science, journalism, and more.

Attendees will learn about projects and methods in digital scholarship such as text analysis, GIS and mapping, encoding, data visualization, digital pedagogy, and more. Attendees will meet others interested in or practicing digital scholarship from the Northeastern and Boston DH community.
